EVOKA — identity system
Five distinct directions, each hand-built as vector geometry on a construction grid and put through a rasterise → view → critique → fix loop. Shown at large size, at true 32px (favicon test), and white-on-black. My ranking is marked #1–#5; reasoning is in the message.
#1 Direction 3 — Geometric wordmark (no icon)
The word is the identity: a bespoke monolinear geometric alphabet on a strict grid, one consistent stroke weight, shared terminal logic across V/K/A, optically (not metrically) spaced. Rams/Vercel-adjacent restraint.
My take: the most senior, most on-brief of the set. Quietly confident, ages well, no gimmick to date. The standalone "E" bug is clean but modest. Best fit for "serious clients paying serious money."
#2 Direction 1 — VKA diagonal monogram
A rhombus as the inevitable fusion of V, K and A: top vertex = A apex, bottom = V point, left + stem = K. One shared diagonal system generates all three. Single-weight, miter-joined, engineered.
My take: the strongest standalone symbol — ownable, confident, holds at 32px. Fair caveat: it reads a touch like "K + arrow/diamond" before you know the derivation. Pick this if you want a real mark, not just type.
#3 Direction 4 — Negative-space E
A solid monolith with the entire letter E carved out as negative space — latent form brought forward. Upright, sharp-cornered, generous margin; a specimen block, not an app icon.
My take: boldest and the most robust at tiny sizes (a knockout never mushes). But conceptually the safest — honestly "a reversed-out E" — and it lives one block away from the letter-in-a-square cliché. Great utility mark, thinnest idea.
#4 Direction 2 — Aperture "O"
The O as a machined iris caught mid-open: concentric ring-blades with staggered radial openings resolving to a focal point — the moment a thing is brought into form.
My take: the most conceptually "evoke" and a distinctive large mark, but it goes muddy / reads as a spiral at 32px, and the dot-in-circle O in the wordmark edges toward gimmick. Leans organic where the brief wants engineered.
#5 Direction 5 — Modular system
One bar module rotated 90° four times about the centre, interlocking into a square aperture — one instance of a generative system that regenerates into patterns.
My take: the cleverest system story and crisp at 32px, but the mark reads adjacent to a generic frame / crop / refresh glyph, and its squared O is the weakest letter of all five. Strong idea, least ownable execution.
